The LEGO Batman Movie[]
Phyllis first appeared after The Joker was blasted into the Phantom Zone by his greatest enemy Batman. She is a talking, floating, and colorful Lego brick who is the gatekeeper of the Phantom Zone. She scanned The Joker for badness and saw all of Joker's past misdeeds. Eventually, Joker introduced himself to all the other villains locked up in the Phantom Zone and he convinced them to join him in taking over Gotham City. Harley Quinn used the Phantom Zone projector to release all inmates which led to Joker and his new people to wreak havoc in the city.
Later on, after Joker zapped Batman into the Phantom Zone, Phyllis snuck up behind Batman and he kicked her in the face. Batman apologized immediately and she said it was her fault since she always snuck up behind people, and then proceeded to officially welcome him into the Phantom Zone before calling him a bad guy. Batman said he was not a bad guy, but Phyllis said he wore a black cape, was dressed in black, had a "scary" mask, and he kicked her in the face. Batman again said he was not a bad guy, but Phyllis believed he sounded like one with his deep, gravely voice. When Batman swore that he was not a bad guy, Phyllis scanned him for badness and saw Batman's misdeeds. She saw that his actions were not the actions of a traditional bad guy, but that they were more selfish. She was a little surprised since he was not a traditional bad guy, but said he was not exactly a good guy either, and even abandoned his friends. Batman swore he was trying to protect them, but Phyllis got him to realize that by pushing them away, it did more harm than good. He saw them overriding the computer's request that Batman made and they went to fight the Joker and the other bad guys. After seeing his friends in danger, Batman then asked Phyllis to send him back to Gotham to save his friends, but she said that she couldn't let him go since her boss would be very mad at her. Batman suggested that her boss would be happy if he got all the bad guys locked up in the Phantom Zone again and she agreed, so he begged her to let him try. He asked for 24 hours to get the bad guys and he'll come back. Phyllis relented and told him to make sure all the bad guys were locked up, and she meant ALL of them. Batman promised to make sure of it, so Phyllis sent him back down to Gotham City to save his friends.
Batman teamed up with his friends and the Joker's old gang to send all the bad guys back to the Phantom Zone. As each bad guy was sent back to the Phantom Zone, Phyllis welcomed each of them back. A bomb that was planted under Joker's orders exploded, which caused the plates that Gotham City was on to break apart. Eventually, after Robin, Alfred Pennyworth, and Batgirl told him three different things, Batman realized that they need to stick together, literally. All the citizens stacked up on top of each other and leaned forward to try to grab onto the other half of the city. Batman asked Joker for help, and when Joker initially refused, Batman revealed that if Gotham is destroyed, they'll never get to fight again. Batman explained that the Joker was the reason that he would get up at 4 PM and pump iron until his chest was "positively sick," that he was the reason that Batman gave up a life of Russian Ballerinas and Active Wear Models, and if it wasn't for Joker, Batman would never have realized how connected he was with everyone. Batman insisted that if Joker helped him save Gotham, then he would help him save them. Joker was touched when Batman acknowledged their relationship. Batman finally admitted that the Joker was his greatest enemy, so Joker agreed to help. He met Batman in the middle who asked about his abs. After Joker revealed that he had too much flab, not enough ab, Batman and Joker crunched their abs and the rest of the Gotham citizens joined together to pull the city back together. When both halves snapped back together, everyone rejoiced because Gotham City was saved.
Knowing that the city was now safe, Batman got the Phantom Zone projector and was ready to be taken back to the Phantom Zone to hold up his end of the deal he made with Phyllis. Robin grew sad when Batman revealed that he had to go back to the Phantom Zone, and told Robin to call him "dads" as he took off his mask and revealed himself to be Bruce Wayne. Eventually, after sharing a sad goodbye and giving Robin a hug, Batman put his mask back on and shot himself with the Phantom Zone projector. Everyone sadly watched as Batman was headed back to the Phantom Zone, but Batman was blocked from entering and fell down towards the ground but Barbara caught him. Phyllis then appeared and revealed that she finally saw a man take a look at himself and make a change. Batman was surprised when she said Superman did that, but she was joking and said that it was Batman who made a change, so she decided to let him stay free in Gotham City.
