This article is about the relationships and interactions between Lucy and the other characters.
Emmet Brickowski[]
Emmet first sees Lucy at the construction site, and Emmet immediately falls in love with her, but accidentally scares her off after attempting to report her. After Emmet finds the piece and is being melted by robots, Lucy saves him, where they finally introduce themselves during their escape. Lucy is respectful and amazed at Emmet's skills, until she learns he's not the special, where she quickly turns rude and cold, and tells him she has a boyfriend.
The two begin to get along after Emmet saves Lucy and Vitruvius (using his head as a wheel), and while they fall off the train tracks to their doom, Lucy thanks him for saving her and they try to hold hands before being interrupted by Batman. They bond as the movie continues, and Lucy tells Emmet her real name. They tried to hold hands again before once again being interrupted by Batman.
The two finally get to hold hands in the end after Lucy and Batman break up.
In the second film, Lucy begins to worry that Emmet isn't tough enough in these dark, apocalyptic times. He's still the same, adorable Emmet, even building a house for them to live in together that eventually gets destroyed by Duplos.
Lucy is taken away in a spaceship, and Emmet's one and only goal is to rescue her (and everybody else). Though he nearly fails and gets rescued by Rex, Emmet asks Rex to teach him to be tough. For Lucy.
When the two finally reunite, Lucy isn't as thrilled at "Tough Emmet" as they both hoped. They team up to stop Armamageddon, and Lucy accidentally reveals her real hair, which makes Rex suspicious, but Emmet says he can always trust her.
When Lucy learns the truth and tries to stop Emmet, she talks about her past of being happy and cheerful, and he doesn't believe her, destroying the castle spaceship.
After being thrown under the dryer and being beaten up by Rex, Emmet begins to feel that no one will come for him. But Lucy comes for him, and the two apologize to each other for their mistakes, holding hands and declaring each other "special best friends". They move into their house together, and live happily ever after!!!
There's a deleted scene where Lucy is attached to a lie detector, and accidentally lets slip that she likes Emmet more than Batman.
Batman[]
Lucy's boyfriend for the majority of the film, the two seem to get along over their shared interests of brooding and darkness.
Batman eventually breaks off the relationship first so Lucy can be with Emmet, saying he's "the hero she deserves".
Vitruvius[]
Taught Lucy how to be a master builder, and knows all of her old nicknames.
General Sweet Mayhem[]
They begin as enemies, but after Lucy saves her from falling, Sweet Mayhem explains the situation and the two come to an understanding.
