Biography[]
The LEGO Movie[]
Wyldstyle is one of the Master Builders who helps Emmet save the LEGO realms from President Business, who intends to use a powerful relic called "the Kragle" to stick everything in Bricksburg wherever it stands. She does most of the butt-kicking action, and raises a crowd to fight back against President Business. She becomes Emmet's special best friend at the end of the movie.
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part[]
Once the LEGO Duplo Alien Invaders come up and Bricksburg falls, Lucy and the rest of the civilians of Bricksburg (now turned into Apocalypseburg) have grown tougher, with the exception of Emmet, who pretends that everything is still awesome.
Emmet tells Lucy he had a nightmare about the "Armamageddon", where everyone he knows and loves is sucked into a dark hole, never to be seen again. Lucy is worried, but Emmet wants to ignore it and rebuild the future by making a house for both of them. After a tour in a new house built by Emmet, Lucy is worried that the house might be destroyed by Duplos, and confronts the fact that Emmet still believes everything is awesome. She asks him to promise to grow up so he can adapt to these modern times. Emmet promises he will try.
When Emmet sees a shooting star, it's actually revealed to be a spaceship from another planet. He, Lucy and Unikitty rush into Bricksburg to investigate. After being caught, Emmet, Lucy, and unikitty escape from Bricksburg as the spaceship follows after them.
From the spaceship from another planet comes General Sweet Mayhem, who takes her and his friends (Batman, MetalBeard, Unikitty, and Benny) into her ship through the Systar System. They met Queen Watevra Wa'nabi, and she manages to change the other Master Builders, but Lucy thinks something's is suspicious with Queen What'evra Wa'nabi and her plans. After a forced spa in Planet Sparkles by Balthazar, Lucy's black hair fades, revealed her original color hair, which is cyan and fuchsia. She says she was unsure of herself and she dyed her hair using a black marker while her friends accuse her of not being as dark as they thought. Lucy then gets sent to be "brainwashed" with catchy pop music, but she manages to escape, and sees her friends being "brainwashed".
Once they escape for the DUPLO Brickyard, she is reunited with Emmet and they embrace, but then she meets Rex Dangervest. Rex tells her that Emmet has managed to find his own abilities and powers by making him tough. Despite Emmet's joy by impressing her, Lucy seems disappointed by this, much to both of their surprise. They make up a plan which to switch off the pop music that is brainwashing the others and shielding the wedding, while Emmet will destroy the reception cake encased in the temple to stop the wedding between Batman and Queen Watevra Wa'nabi. However, Rex and Emmet are shocked when Lucy reveals her original hair to them, and she affirms she is not brainwashed. Despite Rex warnings, Emmet believes this is the real Lucy because he trusts her, and she helps them to the plan.
As Lucy fights Sweet Mayhem to get to the music and saves her after almost falling and revealing her own face and personality, she learns the true nature of Sweet Mayhem and that the Systar System never meant to be antagonistic to Apocalypseburg, but instead were trying to establish peace between them, and simply failed at communicating that well. And all of that started when Emmet made a heart for the aliens, which is revealed to be Queen Watevra Wa'nabi's true form. Lucy also finds out that her friends aren't brainwashed, but just rather enjoying the Systar System. Knowing it was her fault for wanting Emmet to change, Lucy tries to prevent him from destroying the temple, but Emmet, facilitated by Rex's manipulations, destroys the temple anyway, believing that Lucy was brainwashed despite her explaining her past, leaving her heartbroken after realizing how cold she's been to Emmet. This creates a hole in the LEGO universe, and Armamageddon happens, the Systar System and Apocolypseburg being destroyed and falling into storage bins.
Lucy is flung into the Real World, when she sees the act of destroying the temple is actually Finn angrily destroying Bianca's LEGO/Duplo creations. Their mother scolds them and orders them to put the LEGOs into storage, leaving Lucy and the others in the box. Thinking everything is lost, she encourages the others by singing and they finally escape from the storage bin and bringing them back into the LEGO world after Finn makes up with his little sister.
While Emmet and Rex fight under the dryer in the real world, Lucy reunites with Emmet and manages to trick Rex into punching a cute sentient heart, triggering an explosion and destroying his time machine. Rex topples in defeat, and Lucy tells Rex that Emmet will not become like him, but he can be like Emmet. They ask him to join them, but Rex denies since he realizes that Emmet being saved by Lucy means he didn't end up becoming him, erasing his timeline and causing the deluded time-traveler to begin disappearing limb by limb. As he fades away, he thanks Lucy for saving both him and Emmet. After that, Emmet and Lucy apologize to each other for what they have done, staying "Special Best Friends" fo'eva.
Lucy rebuilds Emmet's home as an apology gift, then she reveals she was one of the original artists of "Everything is Awesome" as Emmet gasps in shock.
Personality[]
Wyldstyle is a determined, independent and a no-nonsense Master Builder. Sometimes she can be sarcastic, cynical and even rude, especially towards Emmet when she finds out he isn't the special. However, she is still a kind-hearted person who genuinely wants the best for her world. While seemingly confident, Wyldstyle is really insecure, to the point where she constantly uses aliases to hide her real name (Lucy) and even reveals that she wanted to be The Special at one point. In The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, we find out that she wasn't always dark and brooding, but rather she was cheerful like Emmet. She used to be a singer who danced, but she changed her image so she'd be seen as cool and "grown-up".
Appearance[]
Wyldstyle is a female code-breaker with yellow skin and black dot eyes. She had black hair with fuchsia and cyan "highlights" (revealed to be her real hair color) that she used a marker to cover up. Her actual hair is entirely cyan, apart from having fuchsia stripes. She has freckles and wears pink lipstick. She wears a black hoodie with cyan and fuchsia stripes on it.
