Emmet's Dream House is a location in The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

Background[]

Emmet describes this as his "vision of the future" to Lucy, whom he gives a tour of. Starting with the front porch (with a single tree), the living room (with stairs on the right, 2 couches with a table to the left), a TV room, dining room, rooms for Planty & Ultrakatty, a kitchen where the seats next to the window can turn into a fire pole & lead to rooms like a monkey bar room & a toaster room, & the backyard with a double-decker porch swing. Here, Lucy talks about how Emmet must adapt to his surroundings, then the latter gets distracted by General Mayhem's ship. During the chase when General Mayhem discovers them, they accidentally destroyed the house, saddening Emmet.

When Emmet decides to go after General Mayhem, who has kidnapped his friends, he rebuilds his house into a rescue rocket, & he & Planty set off. When they're about to get hit by asteroids, Rex Dangervest swoops in to save him by destroying the asteroid & maneuvering his ship. Once they arrive in the Rexcelsior, Rex destroys the rocket with a single touch, reasoning that anything can be built, but there ain't nothing that can be broken. When Rex reveals his backstory, he said that when he had an asteroid come over him, it crashed it & sent him flying to the Dryar System. During the ending, Lucy has rebuilt the house, & the double-decker porch swing has a surprise: the original copy of Everything is Awesome, with Lucy in the cover, revealing she was part of A POPular Band, the band that wrote the song.

Trivia[]

  • The interior of the LEGO Movie 2 set of the house is different from that of the movie's, mainly because there's no way houses can be bigger inside in real life.
